About the event
The amazing Pete Van Rooy, owner of Artistic Curbing, will be our host for this event. Pete is an 19 year veteran of the curbing industry and a firefighter. He will be joined by several others from Borderline (including Lonnie Shereck, Tim Tippetts, Justin Davis and the boys from Valley Borders) to give you the most complete hands on instruction available. We will have multiple machines onsite so everyone involved will get ample time to learn.
This event is held in Fort Mohave, AZ which is about 90 minutes south of Las Vegas. If it's your first time in Vegas (or the Desert), please realize that it might be different than your used to. The drive from Vegas to Fort Mohave (which is close to Laughlin and Lake Havasu), takes you through an incredible expanse of nothingness, lol. Towns in the desert are very spread out so it just takes a bit to get used to. With that being said Pete's property is in itself a little oasis with a big area for curbing and the hospitality is amazing. I thank him for hosting these trainings as having that many people on your property can be difficult.
Day 1 - We will do a complete basic training for anyone who needs help with mixing, finishing, stamping, coloring, and running a curb machine. Bring your work clothes and be ready as learning isn't done by just observing, you must be hands-on and feel the machine, trowel, and mix. Each attendee will be asked to mix his own batches and then run his batch through a sting. You must understand the how's and why's of mixing as it correlates to the curb machine. If you run a dry mix we want you to feel that dry mix through the machine as well as on the trowel, that way you know how to adjust the next. We will have more than one sting and instructors at the ready so you won't be alone. This day is a must for those just starting or ones who are struggling. We will do curves, tree rings, islands, stops, starts, cut downs, and anything else you might encounter on a property. After day one you should have the confidence to begin your new journey or much better at your existing one. *If you choose to only attend day 1 , the cost will be $250 for you and one other person. This will also include Curb University swag.
Day 2 - We devote the second day to those who don't want to settle for being average. Borderline's advanced training and the results truly speaks for itself as you can see on curbuniversity.com. Learn every technique and have access to all the tools to create your own stone. Set yourself apart from the others in your area and create your own price point. We will go through all of Borderline's Dakota Stamp Kits and the Borderline Carve Kit. We will also have several new kits like the Missouri River Flagstone, Fractured Quartz, Petrified, and Whiskey Shale. We also have new molds that we will be introducing for the first time. Change your curbing game, don't settle... Become a "stoner".
* The cost for Day 2 is $2500 which is a slight increase from before. This includes all of Day 1. You will also receive the Borderline Carve Kit, access to all of curb university and the online training course, Membership to Borderline Stonemakers Facebook, and free admission to Borderline Rendezvous 2021. AS OF DEC 2021 THE CARVING KIT NOW ALSO INCLUDES THE MISSOURI FLAGSTONE AND FRACTURED QUARTZ STAMP SETS!!!
Get ready for all the spring shows, perfect your kraft and get a head start on advertising for the next season. There isn't another company who offers as many trainings for all curbers than Borderline does. Don't get left behind and get your training right here with Borderline, Curb University, and Valley Borders. We don't worry about the machine you run, we see curbers not colors.
